同中国和美国等很多国家的母亲节时间不同，英国的母亲节不在五月的第二个星期天，而是每年的大斋期(四旬斋)的第四个星期天。今年英国的母亲节在月6日。

但英国媒体报道说，如今世界上“最严重”的恐惧症，不是别的，而是“没有带手机的恐惧症”！呵呵，这就是我们常说的“手机控”，目前已有66%的人深受其害。关于母亲节母亲节起源于希腊，古希腊人在这一天向希腊神话中的众神之母赫拉致敬。在17世纪中叶，母亲节流传到英国，传统上称为MotheringSunday。一年中只有这一天，有钱人的大庄园里做苦工的少男少女，才可以放假回家，带着特别的重油水果蛋糕（simnelcake)回老家探望父母。有人把此比喻为四百多年前英国版的春运。现代意义上的“母亲节”起源于美国，由安娜·贾维斯（－）发起。近几十年来，受到美国文化的影响，英国传统的MotheringSunday，已经变成了美式的Mother’sDay。热衷英国文化的传统派，一直希望为MotheringSunday正名，可还是无力抵抗美式商业文化的冲击。英国人本来就喜欢在各种节日送鲜花、贺卡和特别的礼物，商家更是因此喜上眉梢。每年的母亲节前旬，各大商店都会推出各种母亲节的温馨礼物和促销活动，所有这些令母亲节增添了许多节日的气氛。公号在此祝所有天下的母亲们，节日快乐！
